Wild Woman Quote: Worship

Churches, Weeds, Wildflowers and Wonder

In the day-to-day trenches of adult life, there is actually no such thing as atheism. There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship.

I love this quote from David Foster Wallace. In this new year of 2019 what idols false or true do you follow and want to now cease following? It’s so easy to fall into traps and potholes everywhere to make us feel less-than. The main thing is that you are aware of the potholes and can artfully swerve around them as needed.

    1. Yes me too, that’s why it seemed like an unusual idea. When you are really into something there is a bit of reverence and worship involved though it’s just applied to something non-religious. It seems far more constructive to put all of your energy into something you yourself will benefit from, rather than into worshiping a god, although that’s just my thoughts on it 😉
