What would you do if you won the lottery?

A glorious sunset

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would invest a third of the money, use a third to buy myself a home (I have never owned one, as where I live, houses are outrageously expensive) and use the other third to set up an animal advocacy charity or an animal sanctuary for abused or abandoned animals. What about you? What would you use it for?

In this fantasy home I would have a floor to ceiling library, soft warm lighting, a roaring fire, a dog and a cat and my best friends by my side and an extensive collection of vinyl from where I could play music.

In the kitchen would be a lot of hanging herbs, copper pots, a beautiful vintage bottles.

  1. Not to brag, but my wife and I currently have a home where we have all the things you mentioned, except for the dog, cat, and friends. Success often brings jealousy, especially in American culture. Sometimes I wonder if my choices and my decades of hard work to get the things that I wanted were worth it. 😕

    1. Really happy for you Thomas. I’ve never been the type to be jealous of what others have. I think it comes down to making choices in life that I know are right for me and will make me happy, so I don’t tend to envy others. I’ve always been incredibly wary of anyone who is jealous of me…I tend to run away fast when I discover this…what about you?

      1. As for me, I was never envious of others. When people had the things that they wanted, I figured that they made the right choices and worked hard, or simply had parents who wealthy who handled them those resources. Those who are envious of me are those who are unable or unwilling to recognize my sacrifices and sheer determination. This is especially true of where my wife and I live. I’m a mystery woman who just sort of showed up out of nowhere one day in 2020.

  2. If I’d won enough, I’d buy myself a house, pay off all the student loans, perhaps buy me an electric car. For money that is left over, I’d buy furniture and cool tech for the house. And a Great Dane! The dog is really important!

      1. Oh, so many reasons! They’re gorgeous for one, couch potatoes, such beautiful temperament, easy to train. The height is a huge benefit as well because I struggle with movement sometimes. I’ve been obsessed with the breed for like 25 years.

      3. They absolutely are. Do your research no matter what dog you’re gonna get so it suits you and your lifestyle.

Great Danes are absolutely amazing dogs. Make sure you pick a great breeder if you do choose this breed. That goes btw for all breeds.

Just contact me in the future if you’d like some help. I might not write about Great Danes now, but I will in the future.

  3. I would definitely buy a house and make my kitchen look like the green one in your pics! I love moody kitchens. Next I would purchase a space for my art studio and buy supplies for all the mediums I’ve ever wanted to try. I’m pretty sure I’ll be dead broke after the art supplies lol
