About Content Catnip

Quirky Internet Wunderkammer

Now happily on Mastodon you can follow me there!

Content Catnip is a quirky internet wunderkammer written by an Intergalactic Space Māori named Content Catnip, although that’s not what’s really on my birth certificate.

I am a collector of rare words and unusual phenomena. I have travelled to many parts of the world but Japan, New Zealand, Poland and Scotland are my favourite places so far. I love connecting with artists, writers, musicians, storytellers, scientists, shamans and people who stand on the edges of society as unique and singular human beings making a difference in the world.

Join me as I meander through the quirky and curious aspects of history, indigenous spirituality, the natural world, animals, art, storytelling, books, philosophy, travel, Māori culture and loads more. This blog has been my labour of love for the past ten years, I plan to do it as long as I am still breathing.

    1. Hi Eric, thank you so much for nominating me, I really appreciate that. I’m not surprised that you won it as you know how to put together good posts – well done. Will keep this in mind for future participation, I have never heard of these awards before.

      1. Neither did I until I was nominated. If you click on the image in my post it will take you to the site for the Versatile Blogger Award. The address is http://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/?ref=spelling

I’ll admit that I was a little wary at first but after reading about it I found it’s legit. Many of the blogs I’m following have won the award and lots of others besides.

The best thing is you’re not obligated to participate. However, since I placed the post this afternoon I picked up about 7 followers and I’ve had the best traffic day since I started my blog just over 2 weeks ago.

        Makes me wonder…

  1. Dear, how lovely to be in touch again.
Your ‘about’ is very interesting to me and in time I may need to ask you lots of questions,
but first I must read your posts 🙂
    Best,
    Niki.

    1. Hey Tony, not a problem! I am so glad that I found you through a Google search actually, your blog is a wealth of information on health. Really glad you like my blog too, yes it’s a bit like a Turkish Bazaar full of treasures, I can’t possibly keep it to only a few things because too many things interest me hehe

      1. Thanks for your kind words. I think of my blog the same way. As a former newsman I am amazed at the ‘evergreen’ nature of much of what I write. I look forward to more visits to your Turkish Bazaar.

  3. Greetings Catnip,
    Hope all is well.
This is not really my usual thing, but I’ve nominated you for a web-log award (actually, you’ve won a melodramatically-titled blogging award – yay!), and it’d be sweet if you checked it out. You are under NO obligation to do anything; but you have been named as a web-log I value. Take that howsoever you choose, and I hope you enjoy!
