Words and music: A Homage to Tāne

Exquisite Japanese paintings of an enchanted forest by Hirō Isono (1945-2013)

Here I stand in the sacred domain of Tāne

I look within the forest for the family

To the many birds, to the many trees

To all of the creatures of our world

For they give life to everyone

Life on an unstable landmass: Taupo and Rotorua Part Two
Mineral deposits on all of the trees provide an eerie and story book quality to the surrounding shrubs. Taupo

Heke nuku heke rangi Hi a ha ha!

Haumi e, hui e, tāiki e!
