Push the slider from left to right to see the Klimt paintings come alive…
Inge Prader is the photographer responsible for this highly stylised and sensual ensemble of beautiful models languidly posing in such scintillating and baroque surroundings. Inge has perfectly paid tribute to Klimt’s legendary works.
The occasion for inspiration was the 23rd Annual Life Ball in Vienna. A celebration of the erotic bounty and artistic plenitude and all of the verdant symbolism of Klimt’s Vienna. The organiser of the lush event describes it thus:
Breaking out of old ways and advancing one’s own individuality and self-determination; this was the core idea of the Viennese Secessionists. The values of the avant-garde movement thus form a wonderful metaphor for the Life Ball, which has fought from its inception both for active steps towards health and for a conscious confrontation with and the overcoming of social barriers, taboos and stigmas. – Gery Keszler, Organizer and Founder, Life Ball.

Making Nostalgia With JuxtaposeJS
To add a further touch of magic to this art, I used a free tool called JuxtaposeJS by Knight Lab. It’s a content creation tool that’s ideal for creating before and after shots, as well as comparing historical moments frozen in time with present day settings.
Wow.
