One of my most endlessly popular posts is about Tā moko (Māori tattooing), so I thought I would do another to honour my Māori heritage. Recently on YouTube, I discovered an inspiring collection of stories about Māori women kicking ass all over the place. Called Totes Māori each video is edited creatively and made with uplifting and invigorating energy and attention to the subjects and their achievements.
Here are some Mana Wahine, (a continuation of my previous post). This makes me proud to be a Maori woman…
Ngahuia Williams: Model and Entrepreneur

Adrienne Whitewood
A Rotorua-based fashion designer creating fashion influenced by Māori design and culture.
Taaniko and Vienna Nordstrom: Soldier Road Portraits
Blending the vintage aesthetic of old photographs with the possibilities of new technology and modern Māori identity to create this awesome photography mash-up that has become outrageously popular with Māori living in Aotearoa and overseas.
oh my! so many Mauri posts… i will have to pop back again! x
Yes Niki, it’s such a beautiful culture I am glad you find it interesting there is a lot of cool stories. In New Zealand they celebrate Maori culture a lot, which is different from many other indigenous cultures sadly.
Thank you NIki for coming over to say hi. Big hugs to you xx
