Nowadays with retro typography having a resurgence, it seems appropriate to profile some flotsam and jetsam of brands, some of them long dead and forgotten and others that have gone through countless incarnations over the years.

Logos get reincarnated in Wuxi

The Chinese city of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province  is where good design gets drunk and falls into a ditch. Property developers of this skyscraper thought it would be a great idea to approximate the branding and logos of famous European and American brands with a strange mash-up of familiar typography in an off-kilter bizarre new setting. The result is unsettling like peering into a strange parrallel universe where nothing is quite what it seems.
